Catch Me When I Fall: Where Love and Immortality Collide

Daniel Graham, a jaded 17-year-old, has traded his chance at an afterlife for a life of fighting Nightmares, monstrous creatures that prey on human fears. For two centuries, he’s been a Protector of the Night, a warrior on the front lines of a war against the unseen. But even the most hardened souls can grow weary. Daniel yearns to escape the endless battles, to find a semblance of peace. Then, his assignment changes everything. He’s tasked with protecting Kayla Bartlett, a 16-year-old struggling with clinical depression, a perfect target for the Nightmares. As Daniel watches over Kayla, a chilling truth emerges. The Nightmares are drawn to her, their numbers growing with each passing night, escalating the danger to an unprecedented level. His fight becomes personal, fueled by a desire to protect not just Kayla, but also the world he's sworn to defend. The bond between them deepens, transcending their roles as protector and ward. Daniel finds himself drawn to Kayla's vulnerability, her resilience in the face of darkness, and the mysterious allure that seems to attract the Nightmares. But the Nightmares aren’t the only threat. Kayla’s unique connection to them makes her a target, sparking a dangerous game of manipulation and betrayal. Daniel, driven by his growing feelings for her, breaks the most sacred law of his order, revealing his identity to Kayla. Desperate to keep her safe, he whisks her away to the heart of Rome, where other Protectors can offer sanctuary. There, they uncover the truth about Kayla's extraordinary abilities and the insidious power that seeks to exploit them. Betrayal strikes, and Kayla is kidnapped, leaving Daniel on the precipice of his own personal abyss. To save her, he must confront his own mortality, facing the ultimate sacrifice, the possibility of losing his immortality, his very essence, to save the girl he loves.
